Sustainability
at Studio Gaia

The way we work is as important as the work itself.
We’re not a branding studio with an interest in sustainability. It’s the foundation we’re built on, and the expertise we bring to every project.
A solar-powered studio
Our studio runs on solar energy, turning sunshine into the power that fuels our workdays. Our design reviews, brand strategy sessions and late-night creative bursts are all powered by sunlight!

Paper when necessary, digital when possible
We try to keep documentation digital, review work on screen, and print only when absolutely necessary.

Waste that goes back to the earth
Food waste from the studio doesn’t go to landfill.
We compost, returning nutrients back into the soil instead of letting them become methane in landfills.
This same compost helps grow the flowers we stop to admire and smell.

A lighter digital footprint
Websites run on energy. Heavy pages, long scripts, and oversized media add to global emissions. We design and build our website to stay lean, efficient, and low-energy, because good design shouldn’t cost the planet extra.

Rainwater harvesting
The water we use is largely collected from rain and stored responsibly. A system that is often a reminder that sustainability is often about using what already exists.

Remote by design
A good portion of our work is remote and distributed, reducing travel emissions while allowing collaboration across places and time zones. Less traffic. More thinking.

A studio with rescued co-workers
We believe sustainability includes compassion beyond humans.
Some of our studio companions are rescued and adopted pups, who occasionally supervise meetings, nap through brainstorming sessions, and remind us to take walks.

We’ve done our
homework!
